Playlist Memories Part 4

"Weird Al" Yankovic has been around forever but I never really listened to him. As mentioned before I grew up in a conservative household that dismissed comedy music and really anything that wasn't country music. Looking back I realize how much I missed out on but of course I didn't know that at the time.

For the Christmas of 2012 a close friend of mine, let's call him Monkey Phat, decided to rectify that. He has been a friend to the family for a number of years and is seen as an uncle to my children. Unlike me he grew up with all kinds of "radical" music and was a huge fan of ole Weird Al. Realizing that we were missing out he purchased the family every single parody filled CD as well as copies of live concerts and movies like UHF.

At first I rolled my eyes and thought it was a nice gesture but a miss in the gift department. I am happy to say I was wrong, dead wrong. The kids and I tore through the media and laughed it up the whole time. My sons still quote UHF from time to time and Weird Al slowly made his way into my list of favorites.

If you have Amazon Music and want to listen to this playlist you can find it here.

Centerfold by The J. Geils Band

My dad was throwing out a lot of old records one day and I snuck a couple to my collection. I had no idea what he was talking about then. Lol

The Chair by George Strait A great old song and to my surprise my wife loves this one so it's an easy add.

Chattahoochee by Alan Jackson I knew this girl in high school that was really REALLY impressed I could sing this song well. I wonder what ever happened to her…

Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band I actually fell in love with his song "Toes" and this one came along for the ride.

Cirice by Ghost I first saw Ghost at Rockfest a number of years ago and instantly fell in love with them. I've now seen them in concert 4 times and hope to again some day post Covid.

Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz I still have no idea why this song is named after Dirty Harry but I love it. The video is pretty weird/cool.

CNR by "Weird Al" Yankovic I watched a lot of old game shows with my grandma as a kid. The idea of a song about Charles Nelson Reilly being a badass is hilarious to me.

Come Together by The Beatles I'm ashamed there aren't more Beatles songs on here. Greatest band of all time.

Cowboy by Kid Rock This song came out the year I moved out from home and my music interests changed. I can still sing every word to it.

Crazy B*tch by Buckcherry I hope my kids don't see this list till they are older. If they are around this is an instant skip.
