As a child I had different tastes and would avoid some food like the plague. This did not matter to my parents however and if they served it I either ate it or didn't eat. Often times when I would drag my feet they would scoop up the food and place it in the fridge announcing it would be my next meal. The first time this happened I assumed it was an idle threat but when I had to eat spinach and hard boiled eggs in vinegar for breakfast the next morning I knew better.
As a young father I tried to enforce similar although not quite as strict rules with my kids. Sadly their mother was much picker herself and would side with the kids undermining my efforts. I came to accept it as a losing battle and would just encourage them to try new things whenever I could. Now 20ish years later my kids tastes skew across the spectrum. Bridget being the youngest and daughter of Ana eats the most followed by Alexander and then depending on the moment Phaedra and Dave.
With 5 different pallets other than mine I often find myself being chastised for forgetting so and so doesn't like blah blah blah. As such today's blog post will be my efforts to begin cataloging these things. The lists will potentially grow and change with time but is as up to date as I know/remember right now.
