This evening Ana and I donated a couple of hours to handing out backpacks to needy families in our neighborhood. Organized through A Turning Point families would show up and have sticky notes placed on their window indicating Male or Female and Elementary or Secondary school for each child. Fellow Free Hot Soup Northland lead Bethany was there with her family and we each took a section of pallets handing out backpacks filled with supplies as families drove by. We shared over 300 backpacks with kids preparing to go back to school and saw some really big smiles.
